The global clean technology industry is estimated to be in excess of $1 trillion and is expected to grow at an annual rate of 10% to 11% per annum.  In Canada, the “clean-tech” sector is an important and growing source of employment, with some 700 to 1,000 companies actively engaged in the development and commercialization of myriad technologies.  Mr. Scott McDonald (CFO & Executive Vice President, Ostara Nutrient Recovery Technologies, Inc.)has been an active participant in the financing and operation of numerous hi-tech and clean-tech businesses and will provide his personal perspective on the evolution of the clean-tech industry in North America, with a particular focus on the environmental renewable subset of the clean-tech industry.  Mr. McDonald will share his knowledge and experience with respect to the financing of clean-tech companies, valuation metrics, and more generally the challenges currently facing the industry.
