We, Cohen Hamilton Steger & Co. Inc., are a leading boutique business valuation firm in Toronto and Ottawa specializing in business valuation, damages quantification and forensic accounting services. We are at an exciting point in our history, and we are looking to grow our practice with the addition of an experienced Senior Manager.
Our firm was founded by and continues to be led by luminaries in the field of valuations, damages and forensics. Our principals have received various peer recognition awards over the years, are frequent speakers at conferences and are avid writers of articles and papers. Our client list is unsurpassed and includes all the major law firms in Toronto and Ottawa, as well as corporations, government bodies and regulators. The files we work on are high-profile, sensitive in nature, and often on the cutting edge of the developments and precedents in the valuations world.
The ideal candidate for this position will be hard to find. We are looking for a CBV with considerable relevant experience and with impeccable professional judgment. We are looking for a professional who will maintain our standard for excellence, with the ability to quickly grasp the big issues, while maintaining a strong attention to details. We are an entrepreneurial firm, and we are looking for someone who will bring an entrepreneurial flair for business development and growth of our practice. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills and express an interest in growing yourself professionally by attaining further designations, writing articles and papers, and/or speaking at marketing and professional development events. Polished in every way, you will be a consummate professional and be client-facing, able to interact effortlessly with clients both large and small, and both demanding and easy. Ultimately, we are looking for someone to invite to the partnership table one day.

Minimum qualifications for prospective candidates include:
- CPA, CA designation (strongly preferred – other accounting designations may be considered in context of other qualifications)
- CBV designation plus at least 5 years of subsequent experience with business valuation, litigation and forensic assignments
- Proven leadership abilities with ambition/desire to grow professionally and eventually make partner
- Entrepreneurial attitude, and aptitude towards marketing
- Ability to manage multiple files, clients and people in a fast paced environment
- Extroverted personality with excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Ability to prepare well written reports
- Testimony-related experience is an asset (i.e., participating in mock trials, assisting at trials and mediations etc.), but not mandatory
