You are an independent and critical thinker with the ability to identify critical areas, issues and challenges. As a Senior Corporate Development Manager, you understand the business needs and you are eager to put your top analytical skills to use. You will provide key modelling and valuation analysis to support the financial evaluation and execution of significant corporate strategic business initiatives, including acquisitions and divestitures. Your analysis and communication to the senior management and the Board will enable them to make informed business decisions that enhance the organization’s capability to compete effectively in the marketplace and generate significant shareholder value.
Here’s how
- Work independently and collaboratively with the Strategic Financial Analysis team
- Collaborate with Corporate Planning, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Strategy, Taxation, Treasury, Corporate Accounting and multiple business unit partners
- Financial modelling, analysis and valuation within a multi-departmental transaction team and assessment of potential strategic initiatives including acquisitions and divestitures
- Prepare and document purchase price allocations for acquisitions and precise reviews with TELUS management and external auditors
- Confidently develop concise strategic analysis for inclusion in comprehensive presentations to brief senior executives on potential opportunities
- Maintain and enhance the TELUS Consolidated financial model including financing, tax, balance sheet, and cash flow components
- Support the coordination and development of TELUS’ Strategic Financial Plan and related deliverables, including comprehensive executive financial plan briefings and presentations
- Support Treasury team initiatives including financing plans and credit rating agency deliverables
You’re the missing piece of the puzzle
- 5+ years of experience in financial modeling, accounting, valuation, financial analysis, or transaction role(s)
- Acknowledged for strong accounting and financial acumen
- Expertise in financial analysis and modeling methodologies with the ability to develop sophisticated financial analysis and driver based discounted cash flow models
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and complex issues and concepts
- Confident in synthesizing complex information into meaningful information and recommendations
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach to working on extended virtual teams and communicating effectively with all levels including senior management and executives
- Expertise with MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with business valuation modelling
Great-to-haves
- An Accounting designation
- Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation or desire to work toward attaining the designation
