Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Business Valuation and Litigation Support, the Associate is responsible for working on a variety of engagements, providing research and technical support, identifying and handling issues on files, assisting in the preparation of reports, and supporting the marketing initiatives of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in engagement planning and the preparation of reports for business valuation, damage claims or forensic accounting investigations
  • Support technical conclusions, through review, financial analysis and modeling
  • Prepare requests for production of documents, financial statements and document analysis
  • Conduct research for reports
  • Communicate with clients including correspondence preparation and follow-up
  • Work with team members to form appropriate approaches with respect to each engagement and communicate file status on a regular basis

Candidate Profile:

  • Must have a CPA designation
  • Must be enrolled in the Chartered Business Valuator program
  • A minimum of 1-year valuations experience would be an asset
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial and legal documents
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients or other parties
  • Ability to provide practical solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and possess well-developed project management skills
  • Committed to professional growth through continuous learning and research
  • Solid understanding of business professionalism and the ability to work in a team environment
